What is SAP S/4HANA?

SAP S/4HANA is referred to as SAP's next-generation ERP solution. With the help of a new technological platform and a new user interface, innovation has been realized. This gives the following immediate benefits:

• Use of machine learning and predictive analytics
S/4Move is a result of Pearl Group's long experience with migrations from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The first customer was migrated to SAP S/4HANA in 2016, and many have since followed suit. Sound processes, routines, and tools have been established and continuously improved, and in combination with an experienced project team responsible for the delivery, this provides a risk-free migration to SAP S/4HANA.
There are many reasons to migrate from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, but having the most experienced consultants on the team is a great advantage when taking the step.

• Based on their starting point, what is the best approach for the customer? Migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA or a new implementation of SAP S/4HANA?

  This is evaluated by performing an analysis of the current SAP ECC solution. If the result points to a new implementation of SAP S/4HANA, a different methodology is followed.

• Which version of SAP S/4HANA is relevant? SAP S/4HANA On Premise, SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, or SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud?

  • Although SAP S/4HANA On Premise is an alternative, installing SAP S/4HANA in the cloud may still be relevant. If SAP S/4HANA is to be installed in the cloud, which providers are desired?

• What preparation must be done in SAP ECC before a possible migration to SAP S/4HANA?

• What business benefits will SAP S/4HANA provide?

 

The strategy delivery usually takes 4-6 weeks.

 

The proof of concept aims to verify that migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA can be carried out. This is only possible by performing a test migration of a sandbox environment, which is a copy of production, from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The delivery will provide answers to the following questions:

 

• What preparation must be done in SAP ECC before migrating to SAP S/4HANA?
• What changes will migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA entail?
• What challenges will we face?
• What will the actual duration of the migration be? This is important for calculating the total production downtime.

 

A proof of concept usually takes 28-30 weeks. This depends on which version of SAP S/4HANA the customer is migrating to.

 

The delivery during realization includes migration of the production environments development, testing, and production from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. This is done based on experiences from the proof of concept. The proof of concept will also indicate the timeline for the actual migration of the production environments.

 

After SAP S/4HANA has been put into production and stabilized, it will be relevant to look further at improvements related to innovation. This means using the new Fiori user interface. Pearl Group has experience with introducing Fiori as a user interface and several options for a smooth transition from existing user interfaces. The procedure will therefore be decided in collaboration with the customer.
