We are constantly growing at Pearl Group, and during the summer, we have welcomed five new contributions to our Norwegian and Latvian teams. Get to know them!
Despite intense pressure on the market for IT workers, Pearl Group has managed to recruit both a dozen new employees and a great group of trainees so far this year. But despite that, CEO Geir Thoresen certainly does not rest on his laurels.
"It is with pride and joy that we welcome another five employees to the team. We are constantly developing our solutions and expanding our customer base, which means we also need more skilled employees. The market for great business systems and e-commerce solutions shows no signs of slowing down, nor does our need for the best people," says Thoresen.
David Salas
David is taking responsibility for Pearl Norway's service desk. He will coordinate all incoming inquiries and ensure that the right resource takes care of the issues that arise, and provide feedback to customers. In addition, he has some administrative tasks and will, as he puts it, "make sure that the wheels are lubricated so that the machinery runs as smoothly as possible for the consultants in Pearl."
In addition to playing board games, David spends his time outside of work studying – he believes that you are never too old to learn new things, so at the age of 37, he has started studying programming part-time.
"I see that Pearl is a company with lots of potential and a place that invests a lot in the development of its employees – something I think is very exciting," says David about his new workplace.
Roy Halvorsen
Roy is Pearl Norway's new addition to the project management team. He has worked with SAP in various companies for the past 24 years, in sectors such as oil and gas, aviation, and retail – primarily as an application consultant but also as a project manager within logistics and production.
Recently, Roy has rediscovered his old hobby, tennis, in addition to being interested in photography.
"I decided to join Pearl to work with the best from the SAP community in Norway. I've missed a professional environment and challenges in new functionality in SAP. I really look forward to working in Pearl with many talented colleagues and exciting projects," says Roy.
Thomas Køllersen
Thomas comes in as a technical consultant for Pearl Norway's Operations team and will be responsible for operations for PearlCare customers. For him, Pearl Group is an old acquaintance – he has worked here before as a Basis consultant. Now he wants to bring the expertise he has built with him to help Pearl's customers in the active management of their systems and develop himself further in a larger professional environment.
According to Thomas, much of his free time is spent playing low-level football, reading books, and listening to podcasts, and he loves to go hiking and cross-country skiing.
"Getting into a larger professional environment again was something that tempted me. I know Pearl well from before and know how many great people work there," says Thomas about why he decided to return to the company.
Kristers Dzintars
Kristers is one of Pearl Latvia's latest additions and is a consultant for SAP products. He is only 19 years old and has just graduated high school, but he is already a skilled programmer. In fact, he is so skilled that he was recruited directly with Pearl Group calling to ask if he would take a test task – which he did with pleasure, and so well that it resulted in a job offer.
In addition to being interested in computers and programming, Kristers loves extreme sports, and he enjoys snowboarding, skateboarding, and mountain biking.
"I am really excited and have high expectations for my first work experience. I look forward to giving it my very best effort," says Kristers.
Deivids Berkolds
Deivids is also a new SAP consultant for Pearl Latvia. He is passionate about programming and problem solving and is fond of Javascript, which he thinks allows him to do both. He has previously worked with SAP Hybris Commerce and pure front-end technologies such as React and Angular.
Deivids is interested in many things, and if you meet him, he will undoubtedly enjoy a chat about, for example, motorcycles, new technology, blockchain, finance, or sports.
"I chose to work at Pearl because I think there are great opportunities for growth and development – not only for me as part of the company, but also for the company itself. And not least: new challenges, new opportunities, new connections, and new colleagues.
