For the past seven years, Pearl has employed recent graduates or people with some work experience in the Pearl Academy. During the trainee period, they are placed with customers, and get to experience what it is like to be a consultant.
In August, this year's program for ten new talents started and we have asked them some questions to get to know them better! Trainees have varied, exciting and educational days in an inclusive working environment.
Read about what Erik, Marcus and Jørgen say about the program.

How did you become a trainee at Pearl Group?
- After my second year at the university, I became more interested in software, digitalization, and business processes. I have known for a long time that I wanted to become a consultant and when it was time to apply for a job in my third year, I found my way into the program via some searches on Google. It sounded like a perfect fit for me, and here I am today.
What does an average workday at Pearl Group entail?
- The days can differ a lot at the customer's premises, but as a new trainee you need to be prepared for the fact that school is not over even if you are a recent graduate! We learn both practically and theoretically, some days are busier, and some days are quieter. In addition, there is also coffee, ping pong and nice conversations with colleagues from time to time.
What's the value of being a trainee here?
- For me, it is very valuable to have good benefits and a workplace that shows that they want you to thrive. Managers and colleagues stand up for each other and encourage each other to take the initiative! The organization has also invested in expanding, so there are great opportunities to develop in the organization.
What's the best thing about the job?
- The best thing about the job is to have a dialogue with customers and other consultants on site to manage with challenging tasks! In addition, it is also to be able to operate in the SAP industry, which is part of the digital transformation that all industries must go through.

How did you become a trainee in Pearl Group?
- Before I became a trainee at Pearl, I studied industrial economics with focus on logistics. When I started looking for a job, I noticed the role of logistics trainee at Pearl, which seemed exciting and instructive. I applied for the position and was very happy when I got the opportunity and looked forward to the combination of studies and work with the customer.
What does an average workday at Pearl Group entail?
- My workday normally starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Since a few months back, I have been participating in a customer´s Store SAP implementation. Here I am currently working with the DSD (Direct Store Delivery) process so that the individual stores of the customer can buy directly from suppliers and not exclusively from their own warehouses.
What's the value of being a trainee here?
- Everyone is helpful and accommodating, which makes it much easier when you have questions as a new employee. We have been in both Denmark and Norway for training and received a lot of information about SAP, its products and Pearl as an implementation partner. A trainee education is a great advantage when you come directly from college and lack extensive work experience. As a trainee at Pearl, you are introduced in an appropriate way to the consulting life, allowed to grow with your tasks and thus get a security as a consultant.
What's the best thing about the job?
- It is a constant learning and I need to keep abreast of SAP's continuous product development in my area of specialization Sales & Distribution. It is fun and stimulating that there are several other trainees who started at the same time with me, which means that there is always someone to discuss challenges with.

How did you become a trainee in Pearl Group?
- I was involved in arranging the career fair at Molde University College. Pearl had a brilliant presentation there and I wanted to work there. Pearl had a trainee position in project management, which I imagined would have suited me well. I applied and after a exciting application process, I was offered the opportunity to be a trainee here, which of course I accepted.
What does an average workday at Pearl Group entail?
The trainees this year have been lucky, and I notice that Pearl is committed to taking care of us. We have got the opportunity to start with customers quickly and try different and challenging tasks, which I have the impression that the first trainee cohorts did not get to do. The trainee program has only gotten better with each passing year. Personally, I have joined a large project where I assist the project manager in the processes there. The rest of the time I spend studying for the certifications required to become a full-fledged consultant. I have also had the opportunity to travel back to Molde for a company presentation for recruitment of next year's trainee cohort.
What's the value of being a trainee here?
- First of all, it's very educational. You get both theory in the form of personalized certifications and practice where you get to apply what you learn. Another important element is that we are having fun at work, and it is a great culture.
What's the best thing about the job?
- The best thing about the job is that you can be very flexible, you get the confidence to do what you should. The best thing about the trainee program is that you don't start alone. There are several of us who start as new at the same time. We already have a group you can talk to and rely on when you are new to the job, something I don't think you get in many other types of jobs. It is recommended.
